Beckham future still up in the air

It appears we are no closer to finding out in what luxurious location golden balls will be ending his career, with ESPN Soccernet indicating that AS Monaco look unlikely to be able to complete a deal for the ex England captain.

Since his deal at LA Galaxy ended earlier this year Beckham has been linked with a move to whole variety of global location including; Paris, Australia, China and even a return to the Premier League.

It is understood that Monaco were thought to be the keenest to secure his services, whilst it was also thought that the chance to live in Monte Carlo was likely to appeal to the Beckhams. This was a location that would sit very nicely amongst their past conquests of Madrid, Milan and LA, however if reports are to believed it would seem that the second division French outfit were unable to establish terms with the player.

Without question Beckham would be an asset to a huge array of clubs around Europe, after all that right foot would still be able to open up a can of baked beans even when he is collecting his pension. Joking aside though his delivery is second-to-none whilst he is a player whose influence on the pitch is still as significant as it was four or five years ago. This is a guy who has done it all in club football and you only have to look at the evergreen double act of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes for evidence that there is no substitute for experience.

Whether Beckham could still cut it at some of Europe's best clubs looks a long shot, however he is certainly still good enough for the huge cluster of clubs who sit just below Europes very best and whoever does secure his services will be adding a real asset to thier squad.
