Ince deal on hold

Ok, so just when it looked like the Tom Ince to Liverpool deal was all but done, the Mirror are reporting a bizarre hitch. Like a girl who gave her number out a little too willingly in a bar, Blackpool are refusing to take Brendan Rodgers’ calls in a last ditch attempt to hang on to their star man.
The Liverpool boss seemed to think Ince was already on his way to Anfield but now his former club Swansea have shown an interest it could be that Blackpool are trying to start a bidding war in order to drive the wingers price up. If the fee does go much above the £7m being reported this will be rather embarrassing for Liverpool who only let Ince leave two years ago for a nominal fee.
Apparently Blackpool tried the same ingenious negotiating tactic when the reds came calling for Charlie Adam two seasons ago –yeah, remember when he was in high demand! – and it forced the Scot to stay for another six months, so Ince may have to be patient. I suspect he won’t be particularly amused if his club do block what is thought to be a dream move for the youngster.
