      Sissoko on Newcastle radar

If The Mirror are to be believed, Newcastle's scouting network might have just taken up permanent residence in France, with Moussa Sissoko the latest French international to be linked to St James.

Mathieu Debuchy has already signed been signed in this window and attempts  have been made to sign Loic Remy, and Sissoko is now being outlined as their next target as they aim to stave off relegation.

Further to the fact that he is French, Sissoko should also appeal to Newcastle given that he should be available relatively cheap as his contract is due to run out at the end of the season. The defensive midfielder would add some much needed steel to a side that have been lacking in that department in recent months, with Cheick Tiote's lack of form having hit them particularly hard.

Sissoko is just the sort of player Newcastle need given that he brings to the table a strong, physical presence and the fighting qualities needed for a relegation scrap, therefore meaning this would be a real coup for Alan Pardew's men.

The only problem is likely to be that Sissoko is a French international and highly rated across Europe, which will mean there is likely to be intense fighting for his signature. Whilst Newcastle cannot boast Champions League football they can offer Sissoko an environment which he should quickly adapt to given they already boast a vast array of French talent and this approach looks the best way to tempt him into the move.

Should Newcastle manage to convince the 23 year old Sissoko to join their plight then they will have done generally good transfer business for the window and whilst the North East might be getting ridiculed for being the new France, it might just be that these three musketeers that they have called upon will be the men to keep them in this league.
