Zaha set for £12m United move

A quick update from what is swiftly becoming one of the most drawn out transfer sagas of the window so far. The Sun, amongst others, are reporting that Wilfried Zaha is ‘on the verge’ of joining Manchester United in a deal worth £12m.
Fortunately for despairing Palace fans they will be granted five more months of Zaha’s services as United have apparently agreed to loan the 20-year-old back to the Eagles for the second half of the season in order to help the third place side push for promotion. Apparently Ferguson has also offered Ian Holloway several loan signings to further sweeten the deal, although sorry Palace fans, unsurprisingly enough it’s more likely to be Will Keane than Robin van Persie.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham were also thought to be tracking the Ivory Coast born England International - is it ok to call him that yet? – but it looks like Fergie’s good relationship with Holloway will help him secure the deal for the in demand winger.
All in all this looks like a pretty good deal for Palace. Zaha’s form has dipped somewhat recently and he has actually only scored five Championship goals so far this season. £12m will be a massive sum for Palace and one they cannot afford to turn down for a player who so far is more potential than potent.
