    Graham to leave Swansea?

Michael Laudrup could be set to start a merry-go-round of mid-table Premier League strikers as he looks to offload Danny Graham in January says the Daily Mirror.

Apparently Laudrup is eyeing Kenwyne Jones as a potential replacement for Graham who, despite picking up form recently, has found life tough at the Liberty Stadium this season. A difficult start to the season saw his position taken by the red-hot Michu and only now has he managed to break back into the side.

Whether a move for Jones would really help the Swansea though is debateable. The Stoke forward has scored just four league goals in 34 games over the last season and a half and has only once managed double figures in the Premier League, scoring 10 for Sunderland in 2008/09. As well as such a poor goal-scoring return it seems unlikely that Jones’ style of play would fit in with Swansea’s passing style. His strengths are in his aerial prowess and good, strong hold-up play and whilst it is possible that Laudrup is looking for a plan B when his side struggle to break a team down, they need to concentrate on a plan A first of all. Michu is not an out and out centre forward, despite his incredible scoring record, and could be even more effective playing a little deeper behind a first choice striker that fits with Swansea’s style.

If Laudrup is looking for a buyer for Graham though, then he’s in luck. The Mirror claims that both Reading and Sunderland are interested in the former Watford man. Both teams look rather light up front and a few goals the 27-year-old could go a long way towards keeping them in the top flight. Reading in particular would also do well to note Graham’s impressive record in the Championship.

They will have to wait until Swansea do find a replacement however, whether or not that man is Kenwyne Jones, as Swansea are unsurprisingly not too keen on letting Graham go without lining up a new forward.
