Rodgers regrets inactivity

Brendan Rodgers looks a bit of a silly sausage after not managing to replace the temporarily outgoing Andy Carroll on transfer deadline day, a decision that has left Liverpool's attacking area shorter than Katie Price's skirt on a night out.
And the regret over this appalling decision has left the Anfield hierarchy to fall over themselves in the queue to apologise to fans for their inactivity which could very well jeopardise the Red's season.
First, principal owner John W Henry took his pen and jotted down a few impassioned words, addressed it to Liverpool fans and nipped to the supermarket for a postage stamp. When the supporters received the colourful letter, it was full of explanations and outlining of ambitions, all rather persuasive, which managed to quell the fans' discontent somewhat.
Now manager Brendan Rodgers has come out to converse with fans about the conclusion to the transfer window at Anfield where it was quieter than Saturday night in Slough.
Rodgers told podcast, The Anfield Wrap, as reported by Sky Sports, how he understood the transfer window had "not gone to plan", a contender for understatement of the year, and used Liverpool's desire for sensible business as the reason for the quiet end to the window.
Rodgers also assured fans that with Liverpool's squad being strained like a Stretch Armstrong doll, the transfer haven of January will be used as a saving grace for getting a few players in.
