Jol ponders move for free agent central midfielder

Fulham boss and part-time Soprano extra Martin Jol is lining up a move for a central midfielder who has been on a free transfer since June.
The Telegraph reports that following the departures of Moussa Dembele, Clint Dempsey, Dickson Etuhu and Danny Murphy since the end of last season and Mahamadou Diarra's knee ligament injury, Jol has lined up Nigel Reo-Coker as a reinforcement.
Reo-Coker has turned down moves to Hamburg and Sevilla reportedly as he wishes to stay in the UK after being released by Bolton in June and has been training with Charlton recently.
Jol has already signed Greek captain Giorgos Karagounis on a free transfer since the transfer window shut and is open to the idea of more reinforcements on the cheap
The extent of his midfield problems can been seen by the fact that Fulham played with their only two fully fit centre midfielders- Steve Sidwell and Chris Baird- in Saturday's win over Wigan.
