      Fulham snap up Karagounis

Fulham have taken the ultra-direct approach to replacing a player, by signing a 35 year old midfielder to take the place of 35 year old midfielder.

This is in the case of Greece midfielder Giorgos Karagounis arriving at Craven Cottage on a year-long deal to fill Danny Murphy's midfield position after he went to Blackburn earlier in the summer.

Karagounis, who has seemingly been around since the age of mythological Greece with Zeus and co., brings a wealth of experience to southwest London and will bolster a midfield that looked rather anaemic following the departure of Mr. Murphy.

To illustrate just how long Karagounis has been around, the Greece captain earned his 120th cap this summer at Euro 2012, but after Panathinaikos released him this summer, he decided the retirement facilities weren't for him just yet, and will play out a season in the Premier League.

However, the capture of a seasoned player has not gone down well with certain members of the complete opposite generation, as Pajtim Kasami, the 20 year old Swiss midfielder, has been revealed by Martin Jol as wanting out of Craven Cottage on loan.
