This transfer saga is ong-Owen

That sound around 20 hours ago was the sound of the transfer window slamming shut and silly season finally ending.
No more transfer sagas, no more endless conjecture, no more story after story planted by clubs, agents and so on.
Oh wait, no, no it hasn't. It never ends; it is a endless, year-round cycle of speculation is this modern football lark.
My citation for this assertion? One Michael Owen.
Throughout deadline day, Owen tweeted about how he was still available, he'd rejected offers from 'two big European clubs', he was still available, he was 'watching Sky Sports News', he was still available and so on.
One imagines he wanted to stay in the Premier League due to his other sporting ventures; even the least cynical person in the world will probably think that.
But good times Michael, as you're a free agent, you're still available and the Daily Mail is reporting you have two courters currently after your services; Stoke and Sunderland.
Those big European clubs look more appealing now at all?
