Arshavin ready for move away from Arsenal?

After arriving at Arsenal as their most expensive player ever in 2009 and managing to flop quite badly after a promising start, Andrei Arshavin is almost ready to call time on his short-lived Gunners career with a move away from the Emirates seemingly on the transfer-rumour tarot cards.

The Daily Mirror say that Galatasaray are in the hunt for the Russian winger and have offered a fee to the tune of £4 million, with Arshavin's advisor Dennis Lachter saying his party would be well up for a jolly to the fine city of Istanbul.

However, the Turkish club may have to reach further into the coffers to land the meerkat-looking 31 year old with the Mirror claiming Arsenal are in no rush to get rid and are holding out for a £7 million fee.

If not troublesome enough for Galatasaray, they may have to compete with QPR for the signature of Arshavin, who has made it clear he does not want to re-join the cold climbs of Zenit St Petersburg permanently, despite spending the last 6 months of the season on loan there last time out.

However, Arshavin sees no prospect of a move yet, with him telling Sports Express that it's all "virtual news" as far as he's concerned, and for the moment he remains very much an Arsenal player.

Sky Sports do believe that Arshavin wants a big-money move to the ultra-sunny Far East (who wouldn't?) but may have to compromise and settle for the Turkish capital, only if Galatasaray pull their finger out and raise their offer.
