Wenger's Hobson's choice of his own creation

There is a situation called Hobson's choice, also known as the lesser of two evils, where two deeply unpleasant or unwanted outcomes are the only two options available to an individual.
Thus, one must choose between two outcomes that, ideally, you wouldn't have to face.
Thus we come to a rumour emanating from Talksport towers today that links Nicklas Bendtner of Arsenal with a swap move involving Phillipe Mexes and AC Milan, a kind of Hobson's choice that can be avoided.
Talksport cite reports in Italy that basically add two and two together and whether it comes to four or five or three or 4,231,930 we shall soon find out.
Mexes is reportedly training on his own in Milan after returning home early from the club's tour of the United States to be with his pregnant wife (the selfish man eh?).
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger is widely thought to want to be rid of Bendtner who spent last season on loan at Sunderland and finds himself even further down the pecking order at Arsenal. Presumably lower down than Park Chu-Young which kind of says all you need to know.
So, with Mexes being French and Wenger also being French and AC Milan on the hunt for a striker perhaps following Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure one can see the reasons for speculation growing here.
