Dutch Ace wants Midfield enforcer to join him

Wesley Sneijder is completely losing the plot. Maybe winning the Champions League has messed with his head or maybe he can see things I can't...

The Inter ace wants Manchester City's Nigel De Jong to join him at the San Siro. Maybe he sees the City hardman will be the perfect man to add some bite to his team or maybe Sneijder has gotten himself into a little trouble and will feel safer with the man that nearly decapitated Xabi Alonso during the 2010 World Cup final, around him.

Either way he has urged his employers to go and add De Jong to their ranks. Inter are currently in free fall and have been ever since Jose packed his bags and left for Spain. I agree they need something but I am struggling to see what De Jong will bring apart from his crunching style of play.

I am sure the medical staff at football clubs around Italy will not have taken this plea from Sneijder lightly and I would not be shocked if they are currently adding more medics to their teams in preparation of De Jong's arrival. And maybe an extra stretcher or two.

Roberto Mancini, the man responsible for breaking Fergie's heart in a million pieces, will be happy to ship the star but not for less than £8 million pounds. De Jong, the man nicknamed 'The Terrier', made only 14 appearances for the Sky Blue team during a historic season.

It was Mark Hughes who paid Hamburg in the region of £18 million pounds for De jong in 2009. It was at the German club that his career took off after adopting the defensive midfield role for the team.

He may not be on Xabi Alonso's Christmas card list, however, De Jong did show glimpses of his talents, (footballing ones) during spells in the centre of City's defence when the Champions needed him. So there must be a team out there that can benefit from having him in their side.

    Could it really be Milan?
