      Van Persie welcome at City

Kolo Toure would welcome Robin van Persie at Manchester City, insisting the front-man would help the Citizens in their quest for Champions League Glory.

Van Persie earlier this week announced that he wouldn’t be extending his Arsenal contract, which expires in 12 months time.

City have long been linked with a move for the Dutchman and for team-mate Toure believes the 28-year-old would be a welcome addition at the Etihad Stadium.

"Robin is a top player. I've played with him, I know him and he's a great man," Toure is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.

"At City we have great players and the club does what it wants in transfers.

"But for me, if Robin comes it's great because I know what he can do.

"You have to build your squad every year to do better; to win the Champions League is very difficult as we have seen."
