City to make van Persie move

Manchester City are ready to move for striker Robin van Persie after the Arsenal captain confirmed his intention to leave the club.
The Dutchman opted against signing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, sparking speculation that the Citizens were prepared to move for the 28-year-old.
Van Persie was pivotal to the Gunners last season, netting 37 goals in all competitions as the North London giants secured a top three finish.
The striker on Wednesday announced: "I’ve thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract."
The news will come as a massive blow to Arsenal, who had been hoping to tie the front-man down to a new long-term deal.
Manchester City will now move for van Persie this summer, which could see Edin Dzeko leave the Etihad Stadium.
