      Rovers 'Unsure' On Hoilett

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is unsure whether Queens Park Rangers will make an offer for Junior Hoilett or the issue of compensation will be settled with a tribunal.

Canadian international Hoilett has not signed a new contract with Rovers, after a poor season ended in relegation to the Championship, and it is believed a deal is in place for the winger to join QPR.

Earlier in the summer it looked like Hoilett was on the verge of leaving England for German side Borussia Monchengladbach, however talks fell through and Hoilett is still without a new club.

The compensation fee Rovers would be entitled to is still unclear but reports suggest £6 million is wanted for the 22 year old, a figure QPR are reluctant to meet which would result in a tribunal to settle the amount.

Another possible option that has been touted is a cash plus player swap deal involving striker Jamie Mackie, who has previously been linked with a move to Ewood Park.

When asked about the situation Steve Kean said, “We haven’t heard anything from Junior, I believe he has signed for QPR but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.”

“I think he has had a medical but we haven’t been told that officially by QPR, we just heard on the grapevine.”

“I don’t know the process now. They might make us an offer for his registration but if not it might go to a tribunal.”

“We have had Junior for a long time, we have put a lot of time and effort in him and I’m sure that will be reflected in the price.”
