A couple of days ago, this writer proposed putting together a daily post summing up all of the Robin van Persie rumours, similar to that which we do for the newspaper gossip round-up.

In a similar vein, there is another player we can do that for today with the amount of stories about him linking various clubs. Can you guess who it is? Luka Modric perhaps? Javi Martinez? Nicklas Bendtner?

Nope, nope and nope; it's Ryan Babel.

Talksport report today that Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle and Swansea are in contention to sign the ex-Liverpool forward who is now at Hoffenheim.

The 25-year-old has been told he can leave the German club after falling out of favour with the coaching staff of the club and thus not being named in the squad to tour Austria and forced to train with the reserve team.

Babel is reportedly desperate to return to the Premier League and is prepared to take a pay cut to join a club.

Meanwhile the Daily Mail has reported that Fulham are lining up a bid for the player too.
