QPR looking to sign up more metaphorical gunpowder

Some people are drawn to partners that they know, deep down, are probably going to be quite bad for them in the long term and will damage them. Football clubs would appear to be the same.

With Joey Barton and Adel Taarabt in their ranks already, Queens Park Rangers have said to themselves “do you know what? There isn't quite enough metaphorical gun powder here.”

As a result of this, they've lined up a * cliché alert * 'contract rebel' to join them according to the Daily Mirror.

The paper says QPR will sign Junior Hoilett from Blackburn Rovers with the player keen to leave but Steve Kean keen not to let him go on the cheap and hoping a tribunal will up his fee if he cannot get Jamie Mackie in return.

Kean is resigned to losing the Canadian international but is hoping to get a decent fee for the forward at a tribunal if a deal cannot be arranged to bring Mackie to Ewood Park.

Kean is also angry at Hoilett for leaving the club (or looking set to) without informing the club a he had a medical at QPR.

In other Blackburn news, Southampton are hoping to snap up Rovers defender Scott Dann for £3.5million despite the centre half being relegated twice from the Premier League in the last two years, according to the Mirror.
