Mancini targets Italian midfielder

Roberto Mancini has consulted the book of every single professional footballer in the world and decided upon the latest name he wants to bring to the Etihad.
Seeing as Manchester City can afford pretty much anyone and could probably make the Harlem Globetrotters and the 1992 US Basketball Dream Team play football instead, the club has decided instead to go down the non-silly route and sign a footballer called Daniele De Rossi, according to the Metro today.
The paper reports that after missing out on signing the Italian midfielder last summer and again in the January window, the club remain key on the player.
De Rossi signed a new deal with Roma until 2017 in February but Mancini remains key and is targeting a £23.5 million swoop for the 28-year-old .
The bid could be financed by selling Nigel De Jong who the paper reports is a target of both Milan clubs.
