    Cox Wanted At Ewood

Blackburn Rovers look to be further bolstering their attack by moving for West Brom’s Republic of Ireland international Simon Cox. Steve Kean has been a busy boy during the transfer window, so far adding Leon Best and Nuno Gomes to his squad.

Cox is thought to favour dropping down from the Premier League to the Championship in order to secure regular playing time having fallen behind Peter Odemwingie and Shane Long at The Hawthorns.

The fans at Ewood Park will be hoping a new line-up of strikers will replace the goal scoring of last season’s top scorer Yakubu who has left England for Chinese side Guangzho R&F.

The departures from Blackburn following relegation haven’t finished yet, Yakubu has already completed his move and midfielder Steven N’Zonzi could be next out of the door as several Premier League clubs track him.

N’Zonzi has made it clear to Blackburn Rovers he doesn’t want to play in the Championship. The 23 year old looks ready to leave Ewood Park having been left out of a pre-season camp in Austria by Steve Kean.

There has been no fee agreed between the two clubs but Sunderland are thought to be heading the chase for the Frenchman.

Martin O’Neill will hope to wrap up any potential deal as soon as possible with Aston Villa, Stoke City and West Ham sniffing around N’Zonzi.
