      One more for Ferguson?

Sir Alex Ferguson, together with David Gill and Mike Phelan have been scurrying away like busy beavers in order to bolster their Manchester United squad ready to be primed for a sufficient assault on City's trophy cabinet next time round.

United have already landed Nick Powell from Crewe and Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund and whilst they were both unveiled at a press conference today, covered by Sky Sports, Ferguson said he wasn't prepared to stop the shop there.

Typically vague in his reply, Ferguson said that the Red Devils will look to bring "maybe one, or two" more players in now the pesky, business-stalling European Championships have finished.

Who could these players be? Well Ferguson wouldn't go to detail, but there is a growing sense of anticipation for the arrival of Leighton Baines to Old Trafford with Everton having already identified Juventus full-back Reto Zeigler as a possible replacement.

Also, Joao Moutinho has been continuously linked with a move to the red half of Manchester despite his solid links with Spurs, with the Times claiming United have submitted a £20 million bid for the Porto midfielder.

One player who will definitely not be taking his place alongside Nick Powell and Shinji Kagawa in Manchester United's start to the season will be midfielder Darren Fletcher who continues his battle against his long-term virus.

Ferguson said that the club will show patience, but his rehabilitation will continue away from the first team.
