Reading snap up Shorey

They say the home is where the heart is and even though that's not truly applicable to left-back Nicky Shorey, Leyton Orient is his true home, not the affluent surroundings of Reading, no club has served the player as well as the Royals after he spent a seven year stint there in the mid 00-s.
Shorey has now returned there after being released by West Bromwich Albion over the summer and has signed a one year deal with the Berkshire club to provide them with some much-needed Premier League experience upon there return to the big table.
Shorey waved a kind of sour "sayanora!" to Reading when they last departed from the top flight, venturing on a £3.5 million move to Aston Villa, but now he has returned after failing to settle at Villa, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and West Brom.
The left-back told Get Reading that he owes the Royal's fans for leaving in such a manner and his one-year deal allows him to contribute to their Premier League life with the stable consistency that was a feature of his last elongated spell at the Madejski.
The 31 year old becomes Reading's fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Garath McCleary, Pavel Pogrebnyak, Danny Guthrie and Pierce Sweeney.
Madejski chairman John Madejski, it's to do with his name of course it is, issued a huge welcome back to Shorey on the club's official site, saying he hopes to provide him with more success than he saw in his first spell.
Manager Brian McDermott convinced then-boss Alan Pardew to snap up Shorey from Leyton Orient in 2001, and eleven years later, the same duo have combined to bring the player back to his seeming spiritual home.
