      Saha-derland?

Journeyman in football describes the kind of player that has been around the block a few times at a lower league level and can provide solid experience to any team that signs him due to his wealth of experience.

So, what can we describe Louis Saha as?

He has plenty of experience at a number of clubs but to call him a journeyman would do him a massive disservice due to his talents.

Whatever we decide to call him, the key part of this story is exploring where the man will end up after being released by Everton following his six month spell at Spurs last season.

The Mirror reports that the 33-year-old striker is the subject of intense interest from Sunderland with Black Cats manager set to seal a deal for the Frenchman shortly.

O’Neill is attracted to his goalscoring capabilities and believes the benefits of his goalscoring record far outweigh his dubious injury record.

The paper adds that Sunderland face competition for the striker’s signature from a handful of foreign clubs including an unnamed Middle Eastern outfit but O’Neill is confident of snapping up the forward.
