Vertonghen move still on says agent

A change of circumstances can result in a lot of other things happening as a knock on effect. You’re manager at working moving on can result in you losing all your enthusiasm as you don’t care for the job is a lame, boring example.

In a similar vein we can come to Tottenham Hotspur, Harry Redknapp and Jan Vertonghen.

Vertonghen has been in line to join Spurs for around a month now with wages being agreed but the two clubs still some way away from negotiating a price for the defender with their valuations being some way apart.

The Belgian defender’s contract expires next season (which probably helps explain the disparity in the respective valuations) and has made it clear he wants to join Spurs above all over Premier League clubs.

The Ajax captain’s agent Mustapha Nakhli has insisted that despite the departure of Redknapp, the move is still going to go ahead and will be completed very soon, reports the Metro.

He said: “Nothing has changed at all. He is coming to Tottenham for the club and not for the manager. Managers come and go. Of course Jan is sorry that Harry Redknapp is no longer there but he is going for the club.  We have a good relationship with Daniel Levy. He wants the deal to happen and there is a good atmosphere (between us).  I don't know when it will happen but the deal is close, very close.”
