United target Spurs duo

The rules say that you shouldn’t kick a man when he is down as it is ungentlemanly to do so. Well, that’s a load of rubbish; always kick him when he’s down to fully ram home your advantage and then give him a Chinese burn too just for the hell of it.
In a nutshell, that is what Manchester United intend to do with Tottenham Hotspur still reeling from the departure of manager and professional Cockney stereotype Harry Redknapp by nicking their two best players.
The Metro reports that the Old Trafford outfit are targeting Gareth Bale and Luka Modric and believe that with the combination of Redknapp’s departure and Spurs failure (failure perhaps being the wrong word to be fair but there we go) to qualify for the Champions League will see the two players ripe for a transfer.
Competition is expected to be fierce for both of the players with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City all thought to be sniffing around the Welsh winger Bale who Spurs are less confident about keeping now that Redknapp has left.
Modric was expected to leave this summer after 12 months of hinting and begging and complaining and bitching and just generally wanting to leave White Hart Lane.
Both players were key performers in Spurs’ season last year but could feel as if a new challenge is required and the changing times in North London might just well be the perfect time to make that career move.

ha! you can't afford them, and Spurs wont sell them to an EPL club...wake up will ya! ;)
Can they afford the price Tottenham will ask??
of course,
Utd will take Modric, Bale and whoever else they want from spurs, and spurs will give utd £10m for the privilege..
Get real...
United are more likely to re-sign Gary Neville!!
Honestly, you could'nt make it up. Oh, sorry, you did!
Bale will sign contract extension. If Modric leaves he will be given a choice by Levy. Move abroad (to Juve, PSG, Real Madrid, Barca, if they stump up the right money) or stay here and shut up. The usual trick by old purple nose of unsettling a player, then underbidding, no longer works. It doesn't work when you underbid by £15m, or when the Chairman of the rival club gave an undertaking 4 years earlier never to sell a key player to purple nose again, or to sell to Prem rivals in general. It doesn't work when you are no longer at the top of the food chain, it doesn't work when you no longer have the money. And crucially it doesn't work when other clubs are interested, who will bid the right money.
