Hughes sets sights on defensive recruits

Fresh from securing their Premier League status for a huge outlay in transfers and wages, Queens Park Rangers have set about doing the same for next season. Ambition you know?

Anyway, the outlay this time around looks set to be based on wages rather than transfer fees, presumably as you can pay more on wages if you don’t pay transfer fees.

As a result of this, the Daily Mail have linked two players  on Bosman free transfers to the West London outfit who they believe are set to join this week.

Ex-West Ham United keeper is set to join the club on a freebie after being released by the Upton Park outfit despite their promotion/ he decided to see out his contract despite the club's Premier League promotion.

Green is set to join on a £40,000 a week deal which frees up Paddy Kenny to rejoin Neil Warnock at Leeds United.

Meanwhile, QPR gaffer Mark Hughes’ has also persuaded Spurs defender Ryan Nelsen to join the club and it is thought he will take up the captain’s armband at the club, fuelling further speculation that Joey Barton is set to leave Loftus Road after THAT meltdown.

i personally think MH is doing s shrewd bit of business in signing the likes of green nelson and AJ they might be getting on a bit bar green who has another 7-8 years left in the tank(all going well) he is changing QPR from a championship SQUAD to a premiership one, i cant see AJ starting and i think grabbing these kind of players on bosmans free up the transfer kitty for a few unexpected arrivals, hopefully a bit of young blood that can grow into the team as mark hughes has a proven record of capturing these kind of signings, dembele, kompany, chris samba. another center half, and a top of the range striker and i would be a happy man, when i say top of the range i am realistic and not talking about the like of rooney or RVP, would be a dream come true to see the like of defoe playing in a QPR jersey.
