Hammers to snare Diame

West Ham United are believed to be holding a second set of talks with out-of-contract midfielder Mohamed Diame.
The former Wigan Athletic man was allowed to leave the DW Stadium after his contract had expired and is available on a free transfer.
Interest has been high in the Senegal international, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Liverpool all reported to be interested.
However, it is the Hammers that appear to have trumped their Premier League rivals as they continue negotiations with the 24-year-old.
Diame was pivotal to the Latics survival last season as they avoided relegation despite being made one of the favourites to go down.
The tough-tackling midfielder recently claimed he was close to joining Liverpool, but opted against the move once Kenny Dalglish had been sacked.
