      Roberto Di man for Roman

Chelsea are expected to announce their new manager this week, with Roberto Di Matteo the odds on favourite to remain in charge.

Di Matteo took over from Andre Villas-Boas in March and subsequently led the Blues to Champions League and FA Cup glory during his short stint as interim manager.

The likes of Fabio Capello, Pep Guardiola and Harry Redknapp have all been linked with the managerial position at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Italian’s exploits in the Champions League, a long term ambition of owner Roman Abramovich, looks to have swung the decision in the favour of Di Matteo.

A 12-month rolling contract is expected to be signed by the 42-year-old, who was the favourite of players and fans alike.

And Di Matteo is expected to sign a contract with the Blues upon his return from holiday later this week.
