    Balanta signs Loftus Road extension

Youthful ambition can get you a long way, Angelo Balanta will hope that his will get him to Mark Hughes' first team.

The 21 year old has signed a new 2 year deak with the R's and intends to fight for a place in the Shepherd's Bush sides starting 11 according to football365.

Despite being born in Columbia, Balanta is a product of QPR's youth set-up but has found opportunities hard to come by, making only 29 first team appearances in blue and white hoops to date.

He has undergone several loan spells away from SW12, firstly at Wycombe Wanderers followed by consecutive seasons at MK Dons, who have missed out on the Championship in the play offs in the last 2 seasons.

Speaking to QPR's official website he said: 'I've grown up at the club and come through the youth system, so I'm really pleased to have been given a new contract.

'I've got another two years and I'm looking to push on now. I'm going to come into pre-season, work my socks off and see where that will take me.

'I've been out on loan a number of times but I'm looking to establish myself here now.'

Balanta made his R's debut in 2007, and has scored 3 senior goals for the club. The new contract means that he will remain at Loftus Road until 2014.
