    Ledesma happy at Lazio

Despite possessing the financial muscle the banking equivalent of the Incredible Hulk, it is tough to find that money can’t buy you everything as Manchester City have discovered. As the champion’s apparent interest in Lazio attacking midfielder Cristian Ledesma has been swatted with the firmest of back hands by the player’s agent.

The Independent have reported that the representative of Ledesma, Vincenzo D’Ippolito, has told Italian paper Gazzetta Dello Sport that Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is a long term admirer of his man, but was adamant that the 29 year old player will remain in Rome next season and take the Lazio captaincy.

D’Ippolito claimed that Mancini, like a jilted lover, returns for Ledesma each year, but the attacking midfielder has made a life-style choice to stay in the cultural haven of Rome, where he has been for 6 years, with Lazio rather than make the pilgrimage to the industrial trove of Manchester.

Ledesma, who has missed just one game for Lazio in the Serie A this season, is in contract with the Biancoceleste until 2015 but his agent believes that he will remain at the Stadio Olimpico for the rest of his career, meaning Roberto Mancini might as well give up on his pursuit now.

Sky Sports say that D’Ippolito firmly believes that his client will shun any attempt to lure him away from Lazio as he affirmed in his interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport that Ledesma is a dying breed of player who is not motivated by money.
