Moyes sets sights on a Dame

David Moyes is eyeing up a swoop for a striking sensation in the Danish Superliga but before he can spend money there is a caveat. Can you guess what it is?

Yup, the Everton manager has got to sell before he can buy; the situation at Goodison Park since time immemorial.

The object in Denmark of Moyes’ attention, according to the Daily Mirror, is Senegalese striker Dame N’Doye who, besides providing abundant pun material to the nation’s tabloid headline writers, will also provide some extra goalscoring prowess for the Toffess alongside Nikica Jelavic.

The 27-year-old FC Copenhagen striker is valued at around £6m after banging in 59 goals at a rate of more than a goal every other game (as his poorly-written, this coming from me, Wikipedia page says) for the Danish side.

According to the Mirror, Moyes sent “spies” to watch Copenhagen’s final game of the season against Silkeborg, a game in which he scored and the “spies” presumably looked at each other, nodded and then left in separate directions.

However, back to the caveat elaborated upon earlier, the ‘sell before you buy’ dealie in place at Everton. To fund deals for N’Doye and a permanent move for Steven Pienaar, Moyes may have to part with one of his prized assets in the form of Leighton Baines who is interesting Manchester United allegedly.
