      Elm causes Dalglish schedule re-jig

Adding to Kenny Dalglish’s current woes (cup competitions notwithstanding) is having to pencil in another trip to the Netherlands and taking a unused flight ticket to Liverpool’s HR department to see if he can get a refund on it.

The reason for all of this added annoyance to Dalglish’s schedule is his wasted trip to the Netherlands on Sunday after one of his summer transfer targets pulled out of a game he intended to watch at the last minute.

The Liverpool boss intended to take in AZ Alkmaar versus Feyenoord to observe the performance of Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm with a view to a possible transfer in the summer according to the Daily Mail.

However, Elm was pulled out of the match at the last minute due to his wife giving birth to the couple’s first child leaving Dalglish to re-organise an observational visit to evaluate the £7million rated player with the midfielder expected to figure in AZ’s fixture against NEC Nijmegen this weekend.

Elm, who has impressed in the Netherlands with his free kicks and goal scoring with a record for Alkmaar of nearly a goal every four games from midfield, could consult his brother David about life in English football as he played for Fulham between 2009 and 2011, making just ten appearances.
