Elphick dedicated to Brighton

Tommy Elphick, the Brighton defender, has signed a 1 year contract extension despite spending the whole of the current campaign out injured.

The 24 year old has made over 150 appearances for the Seagulls and is set to be back in time for pre season.

Gus Poyet, his manager, said to the clubs official website: 'Tommy has had a very hard time with the injury but has shown great determination and is well on his way to a full recovery.

'With such intense competition for places throughout the squad, including the central defensive positions, that will be tough, but knowing Tommy he will be up for the challenge.'
