Clough wants Rams to show horns

Derby County boss, Nigel Clough, wants his team to continue on their recent run of good form as the season draws to a close.

The East Midlands outfit picked up 14 points in March, only Southampton, Reading and Watford attained more than that last month.

The Rams are on 56 points, which means they have equalled their best ever tally since Clough has been in the hot seat.

A strong finish for Derby would stand them in good stead for the start of 2012/13 campaign, according to their manager.

'We are just looking to put more performances on like we have this month. In the next six games, we are looking at what we can build on for next season.

'It is important to keep this momentum going and take it into next season. We will be stressing that to the players this week.

'It is amazing how what you do at the end of a season can roll over into next season, despite a three-month break. You see relegated clubs have a hangover and you see promoted clubs get a lift. If you finish the season well with good performances and results it can carry over to August.'
