Tal Ben Haim runs away from League One

Israeli defender Tal Ben Haim has made it clear he does not want to drop into the third tier with Portsmouth next season and is willing to leave the crisis south coast club.
Sky Sports have reported his agent Pini Zahavi has told the local newspaper The News that the centre-half, who has seemingly been around in England for forever and a day, will definitely be plying his trade in League One next season and will bolt through the exit door at Fratton Park.
With Pompey in debts of £58 million, there will be a few bank managers willing to drive Ben Haim to his next club to relieve the club of the 36k a week deal, as revealed by the Sun.
The aptly titled “super-agent Zahavi is making it clear to The News that a few clubs are interested in his client, who has been at Bolton, Chelsea and West Ham during his spell in England. It is not known who the clubs are as Zahavi remains secretive, but it is perfectly clear they are not League One clubs. Obviously.
The Israeli’s time on the south coast has not been the best for him, or the club. With a four year deal on astronomical wages being signed in 2009, he has one year left, he has not endeared himself to any accountant, neither has he endeared himself to any fan, as he snubbed a lap of appreciation as their relegation was confirmed with defeat to Derby on Saturday.
However, one player happier to stay and fight in League One is Marco Futacs who worshipped his teams’ history on their official website.
The 22 year old Hungarian striker, scorer of 5 goals this campaign, sees starting games as vital to his development and sees a good chance to do that in the third tier.
