    England Premier focus for Macheda

Some people say that the Premiership is the best league in the world, and according to Sky Sports it is a view shared by Manchester United striker, Federico Macheda, who had been on loan at Queens Park Rangers.

United find themselves embroiled in transfer rumours regarding their interest in Nicolas Gaitan, and Macheda is said to be used as make weight in a potential deal for the Benfica play maker.

The Italians loan move to Loftus Road didn't go as planned, with injury and the arrival of Mark Hughes not working out for him.

The 20 year old admits that he looks forward to undertaking another Italian job at some stage in his career, but would rather carry on being rained on in England at present.

Macheda shot to instant recognition in Manchester, scoring a last ditch winner on his debut against Aston Villa in 2009. Since then, though, his appearances have stalled somewhat.

Speaking to tuttomercatoweb.com he said: 'Me to Benfica and Gaitan to Manchester United? I don't know about that, but I want to stay in England in the Premier League.

'One day I'd like to return to Italy.

'My experience at Sampdoria last season? I was unfortunate and it was not a good time for me. Would I go back to Sampdoria? I don't know, I would have to think about it.

'I would never go to Roma (as a Lazio supporter), but they do have a nice project building and I know (sporting director, Walter) Sabatini well.'

The Rome born hitman is an Italian international at under 21 level.
