Chamakh could be heading back to Bordeaux

To say Marouane Chamakh hasn’t fit in at Arsenal has been an understatement, 38 games later after joining from Bordeaux in 2010 and the Moroccan striker has just eight goals to his name.
Now however, Arsenal could be looking to grant Chamakh a way out of the drudgery he finds himself in at the Emirates and back to the lovely wine fields of Bordeaux, according to the Daily Mail.
The Mail reported this morning that with the incoming Lukas Podolski on the horizon, the Gunners are looking to offload the striker who has flopped more significantly than free willy, after a run of 1 goal in 17 games coming on the back of a 16 goal run in his last year in France.
The president of Bordeaux, Jean-Louis Triaud, told French media channel RMC that if Chamakh left the Emirates to join anywhere else, it would be his club and a move looks likely after he confirmed he met with the player after their recent game with PSG.
The Mail have claimed that Arsene Wenger saw Chamakh’s recent incident with a shisha pipe following the 2-1 defeat at QPR as the final straw and is willing to get him out faster than a troublesome wasp, but wages may be a stumbling block.
In his interview with RMC, Triaud highlighted an understandable desire to keep an eye on the purse strings "The main problem will be financial because he has tasted the salaries in England and Arsenal will ask for a fee”.
However, EPSN have said that Chamakh is happy enough to stay at Arsenal and prove his ability to play in the Premier League, so it may be a problem for Arsenal to offload the Moroccan.
Although he may not have a choice and if they can thrash out the financial details, Bordeaux and its fine wine growing communities lie in wait to take the striker back home.
