Milan’s no to Arsenal over El Shaarawy

After having excitement being built up over night about a possible signing, Arsenal’s bubble has been quickly burst over any attempt to sign Stephen El Shaarawy from AC Milan.

The talented Egyptian midfielder had been linked with a move to the Emirates by his agent who revealed Arsenal were a long term admirer of the teenager who has struggled to break into the Rossaneri first team in his first year in the shopping capital of the World.

He has made just 18 appearances, mostly as a substitute, for Massimo Allegri’s side since joining from Genoa last summer and the Metro last night quoted agent Roberto La Florio as saying Arsenal would be interested in signing the talented Egyptian as he seeks regular game time.

The agent told Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato “Arsenal have always admired him, even before he joined Milan” and Wenger is said to have been impressed from watching him make his Champions League debut in the exciting game at the Emirates in March.

Report has been rife that El Shaarawy would be willing to leave for England after announcing to La Gazzetta dello Sport of his admiration for the Premier League. “I really like the English game” he said with diplomatic and youthful exuberance that is embodied by his fancy Mohican hairstyle.

According to Sky Sports, even though Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of the player, the player is understood to be settled in the stylish high streets of Milan and there appears to be no substance to reports that is oddly enough, the verdict of the man who mentioned Arsenal’s interest last night, El Shaarawy’s agent.

“The Rossoneri have signed him and will not be letting him go. He would also be happy to stay at Milan”, he told Sky Sports, so Arsene will have to look elsewhere for his obligatory talented teenagers and El Shaarawry looks like he will be visiting Jimmy Choo and Versace some more as he remains in the fashion capital.
