    Royal Afobe

Arsenal forward Benik Afobe has joined Reading to boost their promotion push between now and the end of the season.

Having come through the North London clubs academy, Afobe has been a feature in the reserve team and has enjoyed two loan spells in Yorkshire with Huddersfield Town, scoring 8 goals.

Brian McDermott, the Reading manager, said 'We're delighted to have Benik and with eight games to go he is a good addition to the squad'.

The Director of Football at the Madejski Stadium, Nick Hammond told the clubs official website: 'Afobe is highly thought of at Arsenal and is a talented and versatile young player who has appeared for England Under-19s.'

The London born striker, who can also play out wide, scored 20 goals in the Premier Academy League in 2009/10.

No doubt fans of the Berkshire side will hope he can fire in a few more to help the Royals on their quest for automatic promotion from the Championship.
