Tykes sign Spurs’ Button on loan

Barnsley have announced the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper David Button on a one month deal according to Skysports, before the Football league loan transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
The signing comes off the back of losing keeper David Preece for the rest of the season with a wrist injury and it is thought Button will be providing cover for first choice goalkeeper Luke Steele.
The Spurs stopper has spent most of his career away from White Hart Lane and with just one first team appearance to his name has spent time at the likes of Crew Alexandra, Leyton Orient, Plymouth Argyle and more recently Doncaster Rovers.
The 23-year old goal keeper is a product of Spurs’ youth development programme and has represented England at youth levels and even played against Keith Hill’s side this term already whilst on loan at rivals Doncaster.
Barnsley have had an indifferent season in the Championship and are currently sitting 17th but remain a big 12 points away from the dreaded drop zone.
The Tykes will travel to South London on Tuesday where they will take on Dougie Freedman’s Crystal Palace, and Button should be drafted into the squad for the trip to Selhurst Park.
