      Villains seal Holman deal

Aston Villa have agreed terms to bring in Australian international, Brett Holman to Villa Park.

The midfielders current deal with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar expires at the end of the current campaign and he has been holding talks with the Villa Park side, that could see him move to the Second City as a free agent

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish is said to be delighted at having secured the services of the 27 year old and the feeling appears to be mutual with the Bankstown born player excited at the prospect of plying his trade in the Barclays Premier League.

The Scotsman told the club's official website “Brett is a very intelligent player, a great team player and a man who is recognised in the game as a non-stop, committed wide midfield player,”

He went on to say "He has international experience and he has played in the Champions League and at European level for the past few years. He will add significantly to the experience in the Villa squad."

The 2009 Eredivisie winner added "I'm delighted to have agreed terms with Aston Villa and I am looking forward to joining up with the team in the summer.

"Villa have a long and prestigious history in English football and a fantastic set of fans.

"In the meantime, I have a job to do with AZ in trying to finish the season as Eredivisie champions, as cup winners and progressing as far as possible in the Europa competition."

The 27 year old is sure to add something to the Clarets midfield, and that is something for fans of the West Midlands club to look forward to at the start of the 2012/13 season.
