      Reds ready summer spending spree

Liverpool are looking set to launch a second summer spending spree at the end of the season, with Seydou Keita, Javi Martinez and Eden Hazard, of Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Lille respectively, all top of manager Kenny Dalglish’s wish-list.

The Reds recently defeated Cardiff City on penalties in the Carling Cup to win their first trophy in almost six-years; something captain Steven Gerrard is hoping will prove a catalyst for success in the future.

Director of football Damian Comolli has stated that plenty of "big-name player’s" want to move to Anfield due to the plans of the owners.

It is the desire of owner John W Henry to attract a number of Europe’s brightest talents to the club, and Comolli is convinced the American will financially back the club at the end of the season.

"There’s a very positive vibe around the club across Europe," Comolli said.

"A lot of players I know are very interested about joining the project because it’s a very interesting project.

"We already know that there are big players who want to join us next summer because they believe in the project.

"Everybody in Europe knows what Liverpool football club are trying to do."
