New striker is up for grabs

It is reported that Porto are ready to sell their Columbian striker Jackson Martinez even though he has only been at the club since the summer.

Martinez has impressed so far having scored 9 in 9 for the Portuguese club. Porto have said to be asking for £20 million for the striker so they can use the funds to buy at least three new players.

With Chelsea in the market for a new striker they are the favourites to sign the Porto man. Other clubs are after Martinez but if Abramovich wants success instantly he is going to have to dig into his pocket and buy some sort of striking power.

Fernando Torres has four in his last two matches but it is unclear how long he can keep this scoring form going especially with the way he has been playing at Chelsea since he left Liverpool.

Martinez is strong and powerful who knows where the goal is and he can be clinical when the team needs him to be most. He proved that at his former club Jaguares in Mexico where he scored 36 goals in 64 appearances.
