City of United, City or United?

Shakhtar Donetsk’s star man is set to be leaving Ukraine in January for a new life in Manchester. Fernandinho has revealed he will be leaving Donetsk to play in Manchester.

The sly Brazilian won’t reveal whether he will be playing for City or United. Fernandinho has stated in Calciomercato “I am closing a deal with an English club. I will play in Manchester in January”.

The 27 year old attacker player recently impressed when he scored in the 2-1 win over Chelsea in the Champions league. This performance triggered a mass interest in him but appears one of the Manchester clubs has caught his eye and soon his signature.

Fernandinho has notched up over 150 appearances for Shakhtar and scored 30 goals, he is well known for having blistering pace and likes to crack a ball from distance. Without the lankiness of Yaya Toure he very much plays in the same way as the Ivory Coast man.

Nationally Ferdnandinho has been overlooked by other talents and therefore at 27 he has only played 5 times for his national side. With Brazil having such a depth squad to choose from it is hard to fit all of the talent into a starting X1.
