Paul Robinson off if Friedel returns

Paul Robinson has indicated he could quit Blackburn Rovers if American goalkeeper Brad Friedel returns to Ewood Park. Blackburn manager, Henning Berg, is apparently trying to lure Brad Friedel back to Blackburn Rovers. Berg has already had one offer for the American stopper turned down by Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas and it is thought that he is preparing another in the January transfer window.
Robinson has expressed his fear that if Friedel comes he will be relegated to second choice. His agent Rob Segal told the Sun, “If Blackburn can sort something out over Brad Friedel, then we shall be on our way.” Robinson, 33, appears contented at the moment but at this stage of his career is not keen to warm the bench, his agent continued: “Paul would be totally happy to stay, he is very happy at Blackburn. But, at this stage of his career, he wants to be playing football."
Paul Robinson, who joined from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2008, has played in all of Blackburn's twenty games in the Championship this season keeping four clean sheets. Whilst Brad Friedel, 41, who was an ever-present in the Premier League with 310 consecutive league appearances, has lost his place in the Tottenham team to Hugo Lloris. Andre Villas-Boas has four top keepers at his club (Lloris, Friedel, Carlo Cudicini and Heurelho Gomes) and it can't be too much longer before one or more of them wishes to move on.
