Alonso to return to Anfield?

Xabi Alonso has hinted that he might make a return to the Premier League. He told the Mirror, "There is always a chance I could go back to the Premier League as I always enjoyed good times there."
He has a year and a half to run on his contract with Real Madrid and apparently talks with the club over a new deal have hit a stumbling block. The ex-Liverpool midfielder has been a hit at Real Madrid. Since returning to Spain he has won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. He has also collected a World Cup winners medal and two European Championship winners medals with the national side.
He has played in sixteen games so far this season for Real and one hundred and twenty appearances in all competitions for the club since he moved from England. He provides a solid base for the more extravagantly talented members of the team and there would be a huge hole in their midfield if he left. Many think that this hole is yet to be properly filled at Liverpool. The Anfield club has been struggling to solve this problem since then but perhaps the very man who caused the problem could be the one to solve it by returning.
