Lescott available for right price in January

Manchester City's forgotten man could be available for a move next month for a fee of only £8m.

One of City's key figures regarding last year's Premier League glory, Joleon Lescott, has found himself occupying either the substitute bench or the physio table for almost the entire duration of this campaign but it appears to be coming to an end, much like his City career.

Although it seems like the defender has been playing at the top level since time began, he is still only 30-years-old and still has a good 6 or 7-years left in him yet. He has been sidelined with an unfortunate back injury which has not only had an impact on his position in the Manchester City pecking order, but also the form of the team and in particular his defensive partner Vincent Kompany, who seems to have fallen to pieces without him.

Roberto Mancini has been persistent with his choice Matija Nastasic in the heart of the Citizen's defence, but has also called upon Kolo toure for his services, and you know when you are below Kolo Toure on the list then it is time to move on...

As you would expect with a player of Lescott's quality there are a number of clubs lining up for his signature, including his former side Everton and league-strugglers QPR, and Mancini is happy to accept a cut-price of £8m for the England international.

At least he will be able to reminisce with his league winner's medal when he is in the championship with 'Arry.
