French striker attracting Premier League interest

French striker Guillaume Hoarau is attracting interest from several clubs in England according to insidefutbol.com.  The 28-year-old striker currently plays his football at Parc des Princes for Paris Saint Germain.  He is drawing to the end of his contract and the Premier League could be his next move.  Sunderland, Everton and Liverpool are all reported to be interested.

They have been alerted because recently he was left out of the group of players that were invited to PSG’s winter training camp, a pretty sure sign that he doesn’t feature highly in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.  He has six months remaining on his contract and could therefore be available for very little in January.

Sunderland will be very keen to get another striker on their books given their over-reliance on Steven Fletcher and their lack of goals in the league (nineteen goals in eighteen games).

Standing at 6ft 4inches, Guillaume Hoarau, has been likened to Peter Crouch (not necessarily a compliment) and Karim Benzema (more of a compliment).  He was a hot-shot at Le Havre in Ligue 2 and when he moved to PSG for €500,000 there was an enormous amount of excitement surrounding him.  He scored twenty goals in his first season but has struggled recently and has fallen down the list of strikers and is mostly used to warm the bench these days.
