      Redknapp looks to Lugano

Harry Redknapp is looking to shore up his struggling backline with a January move for Paris St. Germaine centre back Diego Lugano according to Caught Offside. His QPR side secured their long awaited first win of the season on Saturday against Fulham and will be looking to build on this success by strengthening in the upcoming window.

The move will also be well in keeping with the R’s policy of signing older players with absolutely no sell on value on sky high wages, but then again if it his experience at the back keeps them in the top-flight then ‘Arry will certainly feel justified.

The Uruguayan Lugano has found himself on the fringes at big spending PSG, behind Thiago Silva, Alex and Mamadou Sakho in the pecking order and Italian source Tutto Mercatto believe he could be interested in a move to West London. Lugano has only made 12 appearances since a move from Fenerbahce and as the captain of his national side will be keen to play regular football, especially with the upcoming Brazil World Cup. which his Uruguay side have high hopes for.

Rangers results have improved markedly since Redknapp took the reins however the Hoops defence, which has conceded 30 goals in 17 games, could still do with strengthening and Lugano would be an upgrade on Clint Hill or Anton Ferdinand for sure.
