Thomas Ince to the Premier League, but which club?

Tottenham and Newcastle are hoping to scupper Liverpool's plans of landing Blackpool ace Thomas Ince according to the Daily Star

It is thought that Liverpool almost had a deal signed, sealed and delivered to take Ince back to the club that released him as a youngster.  But that isn’t likely to deter other Premier League clubs from starting a gazump-a-thon for the England under 21 player.

The Merseyside club apparently had a deal lined up worth £4 million, with Ince receiving £25,000 a week but as they are just one of seven clubs looking to take the left winger it would be a poor time for them to count their chickens.

It is interesting to note that in the same transfer window Liverpool let Thomas Ince leave for Blackpool and received £250,000 compensation, “Anfield legend” Kenny Dalglish signed Stewart Downing for £20 million.

A quick head to head of the two players shows they have both played sixty-two games in all competitions (admittedly Ince plays in the Championship)  for their respective clubs.  Ince has scored twenty-one goals and provided ten assists whereas Stewart “couldn’t find the goal if you gave him a map” Downing has scored three times and provided three assists.  Great work Kenny.
