PSG planning massive bid for Madrid stars

The mega rich oil club Paris Saint Germain could be lining up an enormous bid for two of Real Madrid’s stars.  It is reported in the Daily Mail that the club who bring a new meaning to the term ‘a bit flush’ could be on the verge of a £75 million bid for Cristiano Ronaldo with the hope that Jose Mourinho would soon follow.  A bit like baiting a hook with caviar in order to catch a lobster, although obviously the caviar would keep slipping off.

The pair enjoy/endure a mixed relationship with the Madrid fans.  Not surprising really given the pair’s incredible talents and also their incredible ability to wind people up.

The move would be an extraordinary coup for the French club.  Throwing money at a problem doesn’t always mean it gets fixed but that maxim doesn’t seem to apply to football.  Manchester City threw enough money around to win the Premier League and at this rate PSG seem to be able to throw enough money to win the World Cup, the Olympics and Eurovision.

It is hoped that the pairing of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a pairing that takes mercurial to new levels, controlled by Jose Mourinho would bring Ligue 1 and most importantly Champions League success.  I think it just might…
